Delete Reddit Account
Reddit is the platform where thoughts and ideas are shared. Communities or social forums created indulge in thinking, talking and rating over various subjects, disciplines, news. Reddit claims itself to be “the front page of the Internet.” Is it a fact? Yep, you can really say so. Reddit users a.k.a. Redditors observe the world, identify what is trending online and start discussing, debating or commenting on Reddit.
The platform allows upvoting and downvoting. If you enjoy witty and illuminating talks (or written talks), Reddit is the best place. The discussions are extraordinary. Sometimes humorous and sometimes serious but the discussions are on almost any topic in the world.
The users registered on Reddit are called Redditors. The forums created for discussing any topic are known as subreddits. Posts and links are posted and the comments are flooding. You can subscribe to any of the subreddits of your own interests and continue to explore more. Maximum 50 subreddits can be subscribed by one user (or say one username).
The subreddits are moderated by both bots and human moderators. The rules and regulations of one subreddit may differ from another subreddit. Reddit’s code of conduct or Reddit’s etiquette is known as reddiquette.
Over 330 million Redditors are there now on Reddit discussing over nearly 138,000 active subreddits. The total number of subreddits being 1.2 million. Reddit gives you the opportunity to understand and back quality thoughts and spread the word.
In spite of the benefits of Reddit, there may be reasons for you to say goodbye. If you want to do so seriously, you need to note some things and go through these steps :
- A user is unable to disable his account temporarily. If a user deletes his account permanently, all his favorite links are deleted, too. But not the comments. The user has to delete them manually. If not done so, the comments will be shown with the author’s name as [deleted].
- Reddit does not allow users to download their data. If the user wants backup of his data, he has to contact with Reddit and request them for his data.
- The first part of the process if you want to delete your Reddit account is to delete every post, share, and comment; deactivating the account is the second part.
